Panda 4x4 Antarctica ordered - anyone else thinking of taking the plunge?

Well so much for delivery 'mid December' just heard today from the dealer that it may be another week! Not sure what the point of the status codes is if they don't get followed through?

I get the impression the dealership's not best please either as they've got a potential buyer for my 500 TwinAir+ lined up already and people waiting to drive the Antarctica demonstrator (arriving at the same time as mine)!

Deep breath - at least they've agreed to install my new headlight bulbs, LED DLR and fog light for me by way of a gesture of good will (all items based on forum recommendations :-) )
Thanks triumph7 thanked for this post

I thought they'd said the Antartica mold as already here on uk soil?
Should only take a week at the most from that status.

Do we need the resistors for the panda?

Re: Panda 4x4 Antarctica ordered - anyone else thinking of taking the plunge?

@deeyup that's what I was told by the dealer and Fiat's status implied. Can't believe they didn't manage to get them to customers in 2013 which of course was the 30th anniversary. Only Fiat could manage deliver their special edition 30th anniversary cars a year late!!! :-(
@triumph7 don't take my word for it! Currently installed in my 500 and was assuming it would be a straight swap to the Panda - anyone know otherwise?

Re: Panda 4x4 Antarctica ordered - anyone else thinking of taking the plunge?

I haven't been on the site for a while.

My forum name is a bit outdated, as I chose this when I was looking to get a 500 TwinAir which we then got in 2011.

That TA is now going from my wife to my daughter and my wife and I quite like the look of the Panda 4x4.

I just noticed that Fiat are doing what seems to be a pretty decent deal on this Antarctica model, so we are aiming to go up to town tomorrow to check it out.

I came across this thread which grabbed my attention and I'm waiting with baited breath for the delivery of this car!

I'll be watching this space!

Lol - I'll post some pics and first impressions as soon as it arrives :-) As I understand it every dealer in the UK is due to get an Antarctica in the next week (or so!).

I've made it quite clear though that if it comes with the bloody penguin decal I want it removed before I leave the forcourt ;-)

I'll buy the stickers off you if the dealer is supposed to apply them if you want to sell them?

Did you buy a new car without knowing what spec it was

Anyway, take a look at https://www.fiatforum.com/panda-iii/...ml#post3365751

Re: Panda 4x4 Antarctica ordered - anyone else thinking of taking the plunge?

We do know the major spec of the car and I have driven a regular Panda 4x4.

Even the sales guy can't work out what exactly this pack is, though I suspect it is merely the penguin decals and so on.

Your sales guy is being a little lazy I'd say. Each dealer will have had a bulletin with the spec on it.

In case you missed the other thread, this what you get over the standard spec of the 4x4

3 rear seats/seatbelts
white paint/black roof
height adjustable drivers seat
Rear privacy glass
the orange mirrors and wheel centre caps
the polished face accessory wheels
Penguin sticker along the side.
Door pillar badges.

It looks to me that the options list has been pared right down too with only leather wheel/gear knob available.
Shame that as I'd want the winter pack.

Re: Panda 4x4 Antarctica ordered - anyone else thinking of taking the plunge?

I agree @deeyup sounds a bit lazy! After they phoned Fiat and found out that the car actually existed my dealer did quickly procure a crumpled, I assume faxed builtin - not exactly glamorous but they gave me a copy with what details they had. :-)

Re: Panda 4x4 Antarctica ordered - anyone else thinking of taking the plunge?

Thanks- all those are listed on the spec with their own codes, but in addition to this is a separate code- see below from the print out he gave me;

STANDARD EQUIPMENT

070 Dark Tinted Windows
195 5 Seat With 40/60 Split Fix & Fold Rear Seat
273 3 Rear Seatbelts & Head Restraints
626 Height Adjustable Drivers Seat
63K Antarctica Pack
6Y0 Special Pastel Bicolour + Black Roof
097 Fog Lights
4FU Bluetooth English Configuration
54E Ceiling Front Spotlight Timer
5BH Steering Wheel Controls For Blue&me & Radio/cd
6HQ Ciao Fiat Sticker On Dash
6RR Blue&me (bluetooth + Usb + Aux-in)

Anyway we are looking forward to getting it next week and I have to remember that it is my wife's, not mine!
