General Panda 4x4 Antarctica ordered - anyone else thinking of taking the plunge?

I thought the Panda was supposed to be 'Quirky'

Maybe they do these things on purpose to give everyone something to talk about on forums such as this.

At least the designers resisted the temptation to give us
a squircular steering wheel :D (perhaps they remember
the Allegro :( )

The leather-covered version is really good to use :)
(provided the silly 'city' mode is avoided!)

I had the misfortune to have to park a friend's All Aggro. God it was awful!

Dad's Rover 3500 SDI also had a squared off steering wheel.

I see that wheels that are flattened at the bottom are becoming the rage with fancy sports cars these days.

I've had mine now since the end of Jan and still loving it, (apart from the fuel gauge which started to play up this evening). Looking forward to the winter and lots of snow.

Somebody did suggest that the gear stick gaiter should also be orange to match the seats and door cards. A good idea I think, now where can I get some orange leather....??

Good idea.... Bet my mum could knock that up for us, need to find the right colour leather first though

We ordered through Arnold Clarke dealership.... They are bringing it from one of their 'mates' lol.

We ordered 0.9 twin air, that I looked at at Desirasis Diesel

They had a diesel demonstrator (still for sale) and an unregistered TA (which I had my eye on) but they sold the TA while I was on holiday :(

Just had a good laugh reading through this thread from the beginning :)
I joined the 2103 4x4 party with MJ in white a couple of weeks ago, pretty much bog standard spec (bought 9 months old) and very pleased. You're all right: the plastic steering wheel isn't great. but, we have or have had leather steering wheels on our 'main' car for some years, and I can say that stuff like sun cream or hand cream seems to cause the leather to break down over time, or maybe its from diesel residue?

I too was curious about the penguin-feeding 'teats' on the front - I wonder: are they where the outside temperature is measured from? (My Multipla some years back had a similar but smaller 'nipple' on the door mirror, which was for the outside temp sensor)

The teats are on the normal 4x4 so no penguin connections I don't think - Panda tits? The temp sensor on the previous model was on the underside of the nearside mirror so I suspect it's the same.

Saw an Antarctica in Modbury, South Devon the other day - first one I've seen in the flesh. I loved it and so did the kids, they loved the picture of the penguin on the side!

Looking on Auto Trader the other day, there's only a handful for sale at the moment, but most of them HAVEN'T GOT THE PENGUINS!!! To say I am mildly disgusted is an understatement...

My Antarctica's penguins got evicted before I collected it from the dealers.

Excellent!

Glad to see the penguins can be retrofitted. Not that I am buying one any time soon, but if I was then I would 100% be having them on the side:):D

Each to their own of course;):)

I see your Panda Penguin Stickers and raise you a matching trailer, Super Uwe!
We love the stickers - many don't get it, but we've had so many people make positive comments. My boys, 5yrs and 2yrs, LOVE them!!!
