I picked up a new fiat panda lounge this morning and got a parrot handsfree kit at lunch time. since then the air bag light has been on. How do I get this turn off or reset is it a case of just turning up at the dealers or do I need to make An appointment.

Also how do you put child locks on the back doors?

Any help would be great

I didn't no you could turn it off how would I turn it back on?

Thanks

I don't actually own a Fiat at the moment and so hopefully one of the Panda owners can shed some light on the exact process. On my Suzuki and my wife's VW there is a switch that requires the car key to be inserted into it before you can turn the airbag on/off.

It'll be an option within the instrument panel menu. Reading the cars manual will shed all the light on this and many other questions that its expected you'll have with it being a new car.

What colour is the airbag light? Red or Amber?

Open the rear door- just below the latch mechanism on the door,
you'll find a white plastic slotted cylinder. Using the end of the
ignition key, turn this through about 70 degrees and it's set :)

Just reverse the procedure to re-enable the internal handles.

I hope your airbag light problem is soon sorted!

Exactly. Had to sort ours out a few weeks back when my little boy tried to open the door himself, which he did!

Thankfully we were parked up and he was trying to escape out of his car seat, otherwise could have been interesting...

Interesting. On my new panda you turn the air bag on and off using the menu system on the stereo. I looked it up and tried it as I was thinking about car seat in the front for our grandson.

Did you sort your air bag light was it anything to do with parrot cheers chris.

I took the car to Fiat maidstone and because I did not buy the car from them they did not want to help me when I mentioned the parrott kit even know my wife is expected our 2nd child and I wanted to make sure it was safe.

I took the car to a local garage who reset the light for me.

I found the sales man and service department in maidstone terrible and will never use this garage again .
