All,
Had a bit of moment this week, Monday night I went out and pulled into Morrisons petrol station at 8:00pm to find it closed as of 7:30 - it was a bank holiday, but I'm so used to petrol stations being open I never even thought it would be shut!!
Anyway, by the time I get home the Range on my TA Lounge is down to 35 miles which would be just over half a gallon of fuel about 2.5 litres I guess.
Tuesday morning off I go to the petrol station and I travel but half a mile and the low fuel warning chimes in and the Range goes to the useful "----" marks.
About 6 miles later (I'm nervous but not stressed), I pull into a BP station and brim the tank.
I can only get 32.15 litres in and that includes the neck etc.
Given the tank on the TA Lounge is 37 litres I think I had about 5 litres left in the tank when I filled not the just over 2 litres the computers thought??
Has anyone else figured out the actual range from the low fuel indication, I appreciate it's not an exact science but next time I'm going to put a can of fuel in the car and let it run out to see how far I can go. The reason being if I'd have travelled another 6 miles to the local big town petrol is considerably cheaper.
Cheers
Jon
