Hi. Has anyone any recommendations for a suitable bike rack? Just had a Westfalia detachable towbar fitted. 2-3 bikes, usually only 2, but nice to have spare capacity I guess.
Could get a cheapie from Halfords, which may well be perfect, but don't want to damage the new 4x4 by getting the wrong one! Thanks in anticipation.... :)

I have a thule towbar rack and it is fantastic. My problem is that I haven't got a towbar fitted to
My 4x4 yet. Still waiting for the 13 pins dedicated electrics to be available.

We use a BMW tow-ball mounted bike-rack and it is very good. I think that the ball needs to be mounted on a decent post as I think this is integral to how these devices achieve a secure fit: they clamp to the ball and steady themselves against the post.

I can thoroughly recommend the Atera Strada, I have the 3-bike with 4th bike adapter which I use on my Volvo. It's lighter than most so keeps the nose weight down, and also easily tilts via a sliding mechanism to allow access to the boot. It's really solid - I've even used it on farm tracks. I works well with a swan neck detachable towbar too. With 4 bikes you need a roof bar and tension straps too, but I think this might be too much for a Panda? I bought mine from the roofbox company

Quite expensive if you want the 3 bike version but really stable at speed and easy to use. It's worth checking their bargain corner from time to time for an ex-display or return.

Here is a picture of the 4 bike version on my Volvo. It clamps o to the towball and comes with locks for the bikes and to lock it too the towball. It is secure even with 4 bikes on the M-way at 80+ mph. Because the bikes are behind the car fuel consumption is unaffected.

Good choice. We use a thule. Really great quality and love the way you can loosen and tilt away from tail Gate (with bikes on) to access the boot.

I have fitted a BMW 2 Bike rear carrier . This was from my days of Mini ownership. I have added brackets to the carrier to make it sturdy and not solely reliant upon Thule towbar to hold carrier. I do find the rear framework of the Panda quite flimsy underneath and there is some slight flexing with 2 bikes loaded.
Continental 7 pin electrics were supplied with Towbar and I also acquired a converter to UK standard plug which twists home to make connecting older trailers etc connectable. About £12.
Also in photo see TwinAir and 4x4 chrome badging which are available from Fiat dealer if you want to give the Panda some specific identity which I felt it lacked. Can supply part numbers if anyone is interested.
