Hey guys,

I want to remove the original radio from my new fiat panda 319 (2012).
But I don't know how to get it out of the dashboard.
Has anyone done this before?
There are 2 little holes in the radio unit and I assume that you have to put a special tool in there but I don't know which one.

Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance

How do you use the release holes? -I don't have release keys for that setup. I've tried narrow metal skewers (!) in each hole and though I can feel something give (!!) the stereo still stays rooted in place.

Or you go to the Fiat dealer and ask them to remove it, or you buy the necessary keys.

Or maybe a metal coat hanger will do the trick if it fit the holes.

Go to halfrauds and buy a set of u shaped keys for £4.99. Bend one leg out at 90 degrees. Insert one in each hole until you here a click. Then pull gently and it pops out. Just did it and fitted an aux cable to the oem head unit in my panda pop.

Coat hangers won't work, but loving the lateral thinking there, however needs thin rods to be inserted to release the catches, but then there's nothing to allow you to pull it out. It's a puzzler. Tried calling local Fiat dealer, but service department was busy and never called me back. :-(

My search continues...

Thanks for that, but they look like regular keys, so apologies if they are not. The 2013 Panda comes with a stereo that doesn't have holes for the release keys like that - i.e. a pair of holes at either side, with each pair being two holes one above the other. On the 2013, there are two holes only, each one centered over the left and right control knobs - you can just about make them out from this image http://www.carkhabri.com/interiorpictures/fiat/fiat-panda/stereo_17

Here are a couple high resolution ones.

My guess is that the OEM specific keys required might be L shaped, long side of each L goes into hole and locks into place while releasing tab(s), then short side of each L is used to retract audio unit out of center console.
