Attached are pics of my spare wheel and toolkit.
Regards.

Well it appears you have a different jack as my wheel fits the other way around when I just tried it (eg same as yours) but the jack in my bag of tools doesn't fit inside it.

Looks as though fiat have changed things already.

:)Good evening ...my Panda is a brand new RHD car ordered from a British dealer in the normal way .It was ordered as Peaceful White with spare wheel ,heated front screen and seats ,adjustable height drivers seat , split rear seat with third seat belt and rear parking sensors. Plastic tool carrier that fits in the wheel well looks to be a standard sort of fitting and has no obvious part no .
Regards

oh, no, what have I started?
I am going to have a look and see if I can fit the spare wheel the other way round and possibly look at ordering the plastic insert.

I just went for the repair system. Come all nicely in the area where the spare wheel should go with space left over for the other ( just in case) bits and stuff we all carry around. Only thing that got me was no jack or tyre arm there are other reasons you may want to take a wheel off.

The tools provided are for emergency use only really, any other reasons to remove the wheel is unlikely to be in an emergency situation, so ideally you should be using a proper wrench and jack.

I still can't see why some think they can't turn the wheel upside-down like in the picture

regarding the pics of the spare wheel It looks a lot like my Panda mk 3 ,with all the kit inside the spare wheel ,the reason I think is because the wheel jack is bigger so they could not put it inside ,mine is Velcro in a toolbag it would be a lot better if we could have it in side the spare wheel ,gives a bit more room in the boot ,makes things tidy

Just for you MEP, I'll try turning mine over at the weekend! I think the problem is most likely to be with the fixing screw as it will be a lot shorter in swinnerton's car than mine. One clearly needs access to the FIAT parts database for the 2012 Panda to figure out what the range of available options is!!

I wonder if the longer jack in my tool bag is because the 4x4 is slightly higher and the one fitted inside the space wheel is slightly shorter at full height.

I have been back to the dealer today and they said the jacks for normal panda and 4x4 are the same. An insert for the spare wheel has been ordered. If it all fits, I'll post the part number.

Well my jack doesn't fit. I opened it up to the same position as the one in the photo and the worm gear sticks out the side on mine preventing it fitting inside the tire no matter what I do.

I hope you have more luck than me. It'll be good to know the parts we need for this solution.

Well, a part arrived, but it was the insert to hold the tyre repair kit. This wasn't the part I was shown on the computer screen when the parts guy ordered it for me. I obviously said this was the wrong part and was initially told that this would fit inside the spare wheel???? Maybe if the 4x4 came with 25" wheels it would.
What I was told is that the insert that fits inside the spare wheel well and the one that fits inside the spare wheel have the same part number. I have asked them to order the correct part. If and when it arrives, I will post my findings here.

I am expecting the jack not to fit in the insert, but will probably still use it to store the other parts o the toolkit in. Hopefully I can store other stuff in the space for the jack, like a spare bulb kit, reflective vests, warning triangle. The jack will just have to stay under the seat.

How much was the correct insert in the end ?

I do find this strange that one member has the kit and jack within the spare on a 4x4 which is either a smaller jack (it doesn't go as high) or it's a different design.

I knew my jack couldn't fit inside the spare. We need the member with the factory kit to see if it does actually extend enough to lift the 4x4 and if so what that jacks,a part number is.

I do agree it's a nicer solution than the bag under the drivers seat.

It looks as though there is a reason for the 4x4's tool kit bag in the boot then! The 4x4 needs a bigger jack! I wonder if ones supplied in the spare wheel are simply a mix up at the factory?

I may still buy the insert and as suggested put the jack under the seat.
