...cr@?, or should I say 'not so good' ;)

They are one of the few things I don't like about the car.

I put Philips 'X-treme Vision' (don't you just hate brand names like that?) bulbs in my old Mk3 and I think they made a difference, so maybe the Mk4 would also benefit from these.

Unless it is an actual problem with my car, then I'm either going to upgrade the bulbs or perhaps even look into HIDs... (a bit controversial that one, sorry!)

What do you guys think?

...and if I do upgrade the bulbs, do I need just H4 bulbs - same as the Mk3?? I'm sure this is in the manual, but hand-books (that are more than just a folded sheet) 'and me' do not get on... Douglas Adams once said that you should not trust anything that weighs less than its user manual and the one supplied with the little Panda really is a hefty tome.:)

Halfords ones are actually brighter and they seem to do a constant buy one get one free, I've done both our cars and they make a massive difference.

Hmmmm. Will reserve judgement as I don't get my 4x4 till next week but I suspect a headlight upgrade will be an early priority as Im used to xenons..... :)

Same here- my previous two cars both had xenons, so I'll be off to Halfords soon!

Well I collected my bulbs this morning. Hopefully anyone else who ordered them has either collected or had them dispatched already as they have withdrawn the discount.

I'm going to wait till its dark then take some before and after pics to compare the output.

I still think the lights are a weak point on the Panda, even with upgraded bulbs :(

I think the problem is with the reflectors.

I may try HIDs, but I don't think that light output is the fundamental problem.

Nail a pair of good old Oscars or big Carellos to the front as one used to do to your 124/128 etc in the 70's....then there will be light !

My dad had a 128 in the late seventies, it was great fun to drive (I recall
enjoying its good traction in snow on a night journey from Bristol to west
Somerset. No problem with lights when there's snow on the ground :D )

As for my Panda's headlights, they're not great even with Osram Nightbreakers fitted,
but last thursday they were hopeless until
I cleaned the lenses :( The main issue IMO is that their reflectors
are simply a bit small in area. It's a pity HIDs aren't an option

There's lots of muck on the roads right now...
