"2012 Panda

Hi folks,

My mum has a 2012 Panda. It's a 1.3L Multijet Lounge apparently but the thing which is bothering her is that she can't find where the outside temperature should be displayed.

I have had a poke around too but cannot locate any reading for outside temp. Does this car even have a thermometer which measures this or is it one of them additions?

If the answer is no then is it possible to fit one yourself that fits in neatly with the interior? It's cream and black (the interior).

Many thanks, Brian.

Re: "2012 Panda

Not all models come with the external air temp, and it's not something which can be retro fitted as its linked to the canbus system within the car.

It's a 50 option in the lounge trim sorry to say.

Re: "2012 Panda

Yep, as deeyup and MEP says I'm afraid. Sorry about that

Another example of an option which should IMO be standard on the Lounge model. It's the top-of-the-range model and should have it, end of story.

Agreed. I wonder if it would have it if they kept the Eleganza name

So what are the trim levels and names then? I'm a tad out of touch with the mk4

Pop is entry I take it? Lounge top as you've just advised, what's the Easy? Is that mid range

Re: "2012 Panda

Yep, you've pretty much got it there.

Copy/pasting from the brochure, the Pop is the entry level which comes with: Body-coloured bumpers, 4 airbags (driver and passenger front airbags, window airbags), Dualdrive™ electric power steering, electric front windows, central locking, radio with CD and MP3 player and 4 speakers, front head restraints with anti-whiplash system.

Easy is the mid-range trim which comes with all the above plus: Roof rails, version specific hubcaps, radio with CD and MP3 player and 6 speakers, remote control central door locking, rear head restraints, manual air conditioning.

Lounge is top of the range with all the above plus: Body-coloured, electrically adjustable, heated door mirrors, body-coloured door handles, side mouldings, front fog lights, 15” alloy wheels.

So basically if there is something you want on your car and it isn't listed above here, it's almost certainly going to be an option.

Sensor is on the nearside door mirror; displayed on the bottom left of the screen.

Re: "2012 Panda

I've got the price list in front of me (dated November 2012) and it says that the

External Temperature Senor and Display (16) - 50

Note 16 says:

"Standard on TwinAir only for Easy and Lounge"

Which I guess confirms pilgrim42 observation and the original comment as it was a 1.3.

Re: "2012 Panda

Lol, got to love FIAT haven't you? Let's try and make this as complicated as we can

BTW thanks a lot for that info. I was under the assumption that it was an option for all models, but you have proved me wrong.

Re: "2012 Panda

Hmmm, lets fit it on petrol models, but charge multijet buyers who are already paying a hefty premium over petrol models an extra 50 to see how hot it is outside.

Re: "2012 Panda

Not sure if they'll copy the mk3's also, where I believe it was standard on all Dynamics with the optional Climate Control fitted

Does the mk4 not come with Climate as standard on any spec

Re: "2012 Panda

Nope, but give it a few weeks and it probably will, then a few weeks after that it'll be an option again, but only available with sunglasses most prob!
