Since I only do 10k-12k miles a year I am very intrested in purchasing one of these cars, anyone know if Fiat have confirmed a release date & price..?

What is it

It runs on petrol or LPG and (obviously) has a tank for both. It has suspension set to 4x4 height to accommodate the LPG tank. Forget the tax incentives in Italy but it was something like 2000 euros "cashback" and very cheap (possibly zero) road tax on the previous model. Given the price of petrol in Italy the cost per mile of LPG is also encouraging. Extra weight and high ride height are the discouraging factors.

From what I know, there are some shops that provide LPG-combi conversion for almost any petrol car on the market. Technology is relatively straightforward - LPG tank placed in the boot (common tech is to use toroidal tank which takes place of spare wheel), and LPG mixed in to petrol or diesel to some ratio that does not require engine mods except re-mapping, but vastly improving economy.

It does not run on LPG. That is Easy Power version.

Just had a promotional e-mail for the "Nuova Panda Metano" - 2000 euro "ecobonus" plus zero road tax, 80 hp TwinAir engine - formal title "Panda 0,9 TwinAir Turbo 80cv Natural Power EASY" - pretty snappy - promotional price of 13,500 euros with air con.
