Hi everyone,

Very odd request but does anyone have a new Panda in purple? I can't find any decent pictures of it, and the local dealer can't find one to look at! My Mother is interested in a new Panda and wants to see what the purple actually looks like rather than on a paint code chart or the Fiat website configurator - we can't tell how dark the purple is & what it's likely to look like in the sun (or rain!!).

If anyone has got one, any chance of posting a few pictures up here please? Also any thoughts over the colour now you've got it?

Many thanks in advance,

Gavin. (y)

Don't have one but here you go!

I remember when looking for info about the new Panda that the Italian site was useful. So just searched for the colour in Italian and this link came up on Youtube(y)

Totally agree about having first-hand pics of it though. The Sweet Dreams Turquoise that we have is nothing like the pictures in the brochures, it's much darker when the weather is cloudy and more of a regular light blue colour when the sun's out.

Hi there,

My local dealer has a 1.2 Easy in metallic purple and I'd say its a very dark shade. I don't have any pictures but I've found this video on YouTube..

It looks brighter and sparkles in sunlight, but its generally dark.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

I have the new Panda, a TwinAir 85 Easy, in Purple and it is an excellent colour (still think so) - great choice!!

Cannot post pics because I have under five posts, so please take a look at my profile and I'm sure you'll find them there.

Collected it from the dealer at the end of April following a 4-5 week wait, and I have only ever seen one other on the road!

Yeah just had a quick look at the two pictures on there, very nice!(y)

Also good to see another new Panda owner as well, we are getting there slowly but surely!

Was up there with the turquoise blue when we came to deciding which colour to go for. It definitely suits the car very well though, especially when the sun bothers to come out.

Bet you're loving the TwinAir as well; how have you found it so far? Under different circumstances I think I would have gone for one, but it just wasn't worth the extra cost/insurance premium, plus I know how to give the 1.2 a good workout anyway!;)

Has that shiny new Panda in the video got a dent in the rearward edge of the driver's door?
Is it just a trick of the light or maybe some sort of protection stuck onto it?

The TwinAir is fantastic!! After reading the comments on here about the fuel economy (or lack of...), I was in two minds as to whether to get a TA or the 1.2. Took a TA out for a test drive and that was it... wanted one!! Even with the reported inital low MPG, it is still better than the car it replaced. The car now has 1350 miles and when driving sensibly I am now getting 53 MPG, and this is increasing. That's on a 35 mile journey on dual carriageways, single carriageways, towns, villages and hills - turning off the Eco as and when required - very often keeping it off for the sheer fun of it!! And leaving behind BMW 3 series on roundabouts is something else... a very unassuming little car!

I do digress, I apologise.... The colour, that's what is supposed to be discussed under this thread...

When the sun comes out it is very sparkly and shiny. I think this will be one of the few, if only, car that will be able to carry this colour off. And it does it very well. A bit like the cinquecento could with that bright yellow!!

Thanks for the info. Actually the fuel consumption and details about the fun factor are also helpful. Although it's for my Mum she's already fallen for the "vroom" of the twin-air. I think she would get good consumption most of the time, but does like burning off BMW's coming out of villages in her mk1 Punto Sporting (I know, what can you do, and into her 70's! ) - she's already decided the 1.2 is too slow.......
