STEP 1 gaining access to the wiring

This shows my light installed in the left hand side of the boot under the parcel shelf. You will have the mounting but no light fitting.

The two cross head screws in the picture need to be removed.

After the screws are out pull the top of the carpet away from behind the plastic shelf fittings and from the rubber seal around the door frame.

STEP 2 preparing the wiring.

Locate the wire with the white plug from behind the carpet, it will most probably be taped to the bigger bundle of wires, if so remove the tape. image005.jpg

Pass the plug, the wire and the black plastic clip thorough the prepared (by Fiat) cut in the carpet which is in the form of a cross.

The last picture shows the plug, wire and clip correctly inserted through the carpet.

STEP 3 inserting the light.

Slide the carpet back into place behind the plastic fittings (the ones from which you took the screws out of). Pass the wire through the light mounting cut out as shown and then connect the light which should illuminate.

The light fitting slides up into the mounting and will then snap in at the bottom as shown. The clip that supports the wire pushes, from behind the bracket, into the hole beside the light.

All that remains to be done is to put the carpet back behind the rubber seal.

The light fitting is Fiat part number 0060665239 and the door switch to turn the light on and off is already installed.
