:idea: Does any one know if the contactless dizzy from a panda 4x4 will fit a 769cc FIRE engine? I am not very good with points and dont have a dweel meter!

no idea, but the points are simple to adjust on Pandas. You just need a 3mm allen key and a feeler guage. If the car splutters open the points a bit, if it pinks then just close them up a bit, simple stuff.

Yes it will, if you use the coil from the 4x4 as well. The coil is easy to fit as it just bolts on to the same adapter as the old one.
Use the blue ignition wire and clip or attach it to the blue wire coming off the coil.
Then just fit the electronic distributor as you would the old one and connect it to the coil using the big black connector.
Remember to sort out the ignition timing with a stroboscopic light.

Thanks for tips. I am a new Panda owner. It a 1990 750L, 24,000 miles. I also need help with the carburation - the mixture seems too weak - where is the adjustment screw?

Sorry, that should read "dwell angle meter". Thats what I get for not having my glasses on!

Mixture screw is on the left side of the carburettor, just in front of the accelerator cable bit. It may have the tamperproof plug still in it, so you will not actually see the screw until that is removed.
Turn the screw anticlockwise to richen the mixture, however do it gradually (about a quarter to half turn) until you feel its right. You should prob get it put on an emmisions tester and then adjust it, then you know you will not be breaking the law and coking up your engine by running it too rich.
BUT i think its better to have it running richer than it is to be running to weak.
