Does anyone have a bike rack for their panda? Looking into getting one for 2+ bikes.

I can get them in the boot with the front wheel removed and a tiny bit of tyre sticking out with the boot tied down but the exhaust fumes are horrible and obviously its fairly noisy.

Any ideas?

I don't have a towbar :(

Not looking to spend too much, do you thinkg something like this would work?

IM HERE IM HERE !
and i do have the BEST panda bike rack ever !

but i have used one which holds on with straps with my panda and the Uno i had for years, they are fine.

but as i nearly use a bike rack every day i have modified my panda so i now have the ultimate one !!
i will get pics tomorow in the light !!

if you dont use on ALL the time, and you cant weld, then something like this is similar to the one i used to use.

also what kind of biking you into !! ???

pics 2morrow,
aran.

Thanks Aran, looking forwards to the pics! I can't weld so i'm looking for reasonable removable rack.

Not really into the biking yet but want to get into it, been riding on and off for all my life. Would love to get into dirt jumping but failing that just XC riding. Will also do some on road stuff with Dad

ok cool, i used to dirt jump alot.
then i found trials.
and iv been glued to a bike ever since,
(and sometimes a panda too)

chek out my company www.iolobikes.com

and ye, i will get the pics 2morrow.

Wow, nice work. Do you weld them by hand? I'm still using a pretty basic bike, which i now realise wasn't a great purchase as its a steel framed full suspension bike which was about £200 5+years ago. Have put a new saddle/seatpost/computer/CRUD mudgards on and put a shimano XT front brake on yesterday which i'm yet to test.

The whole bike thing gets expensive, no doubt if i try jumping sometime i'll be flatening my wheels and then i'll realise how rubbish my forks are..........which are threaded rather than unthreaded which will mean a new headset and new handlebar stem etc etc etc!

ye i weld the frame by hand.
and ye its expensive.. especiallyl with something like trials where you break stuff alot. i have a few sponsors so get stufff very cheap or free, which helps alot.
(not boasting honest  ) haha

get pics in a sec

ok so i cut 2 square holes in my boot carefully.
then welded a strong square tube onto the back of the holes
the reinforced those 2 tubes with 3 other in a frame ont he INSIDE of the boot lid. one of these goes next to the boot lock (gd strong point)

the frame inside the car has reduced my boot size by about 1" because of the tubes. but thats nothing :)

i also removed my boot and sprayed it (window out) because it was red ! haha

then i made the two tubes that slot in, these are square steel tubes covered in padding and thrers a small welded triangle welded on the back of the small vertical tubes,(to put the strap through)

heres pics.

hope you like it, its handy because the tubes just store in the boot.
theres holes that line up when they are slotted in. and 2 pins that go though the frame and the rack tube. these are inside, so once the boot is locked they are locked.

very practical solution if you're using it often i expect...

the twin tail pipe is provocative also... (y)

we know the same Mike @ MJ Cycles... however he's a client of mine at the moment.

haha ye forgot about the new exhaust backbox exit being in there.
i made that too ,surprise surprise.
those two tubes flow into one tube, which slides on and clamps with two 13mm nut welded on clamps i made, and it has its own rubber mount on it too obviously. its all sealed on fine and i like it.

im confused ! you know Mike at MJ cycles (warrington) ?
he is good mate of mine, and MJcycles is one of my best sponsors !
how do you know him? client,,? what do you do tony ?

thanks

aran.

you could put a classified wanted advert in that limbo that is known as the Classifieds section... best of luck with that.

Sent a PM to you mate... with a much better solution.

i work in a bike shop, can we form a sub panda forum of panda/bike lovers?

hahaha

also huw, u know the x 1/9 alloys in halifax, that i was only gonna bid 25 for.
tony got em i think.
fworrrr they look ace !

aran.

(this topic does so much! haha, bikes, pandas, bike racks,x1/9 alloys, twin choke carbs, and a bit on exhausts, haha)

I put the first bid in and at the minimum... turns out i was the only person who bid...

here they are put to good use...

they're going on the Selecta i have got, they tyres are a bit large though... but a better fit than the Uno turbo wheels I have at the moment, they've got 185/65/13R on them which touch the inside axles... they look damn cool  though with wide wheels. I was tempted to get 20mm spacers and 185/50/13R on them as they are more or less the same circumference.

Now i do like your bike rack! Bit extreme for me to attempt though.

Dad's said he was looking at getting a bike rack for his mondeo hatchback so hopefully it would fit on a panda hatchback too so i could borrow it
