Hi folks - my local motor factors says there are loads of types of gaiters/boots for a (903cc) Panda transmission - so I need which are the right ones.:(

This is what they look like:
LHS - slight oil leak

RHS - starting to go too

This is what EPER shows:
Are the boots I need parts 4 and 14 in this picture?

This picture confused me.
Is this an alternative transmission style?

Outer gaiters/boots are OK.

 Before ordering I'll measure them to get the lengths & diameters.

However can anyone tell me what parts I need to ask for?
Where other than main dealer or local spares might I get them?

Thanks

Alan
Yes I used the VIN No. but I only have access to an old version of EPER that is on-line and I found the second picture from EPER confusing. So I thought I'd ask first.

My motor factors said about £18 each :( for the inner if I knew which one to ask for.
I've seen outer boots on ebay for about £4

I've also noticed that the shrouds for the front shocks need replacing too.
Can they be replaced? My new Porter manual :D implies they can.
However I don't have a suspension spring compressor. :(
Can you improvise/make a spring compressor?

If it's all got to come apart what else should I do?

Thanks

:yeahthat: unless you think your time is approaching anyway :) I took mine to kwik-fit as I know the lads in there (long story) anyway there spring compressor takes about 3 seconds with the air gun and just slipped him a pint or 2 voucher.

If you want to PM your chassis I could have a look, my eper is late 2005. Will try to pick up another on mon fingers crossed.

Thanks Alan - PeteL has already looked it up for me.
On-line I can get access to EPER DVD 1.8 but I was told it's old.

Rang my local dealer and was given these prices (inc VAT):
Inner boots - Flange Mounted
Item 4, 7625541 @ £7.43
Item 14, 7621245 @ £4.69
Clips £1.30 & £2.14

Outer boots
2 x Item 4, 7682886 @ £4.58
Clips £0.97 & £1.12

Suspension - Shock shrouds
2 x Item 2 "Wick", 4409263 @ £23.05

I've seen front shocks on ebay between £25 and £40 a pair.
So it seems cheaper to replace the complete shocks.
Unless the shrouds can be bought elsewhere much cheaper.

Thanks

Alan,
It doesn't include the bearing.
Should they need replacing at 67,000?

£4.69 and £7.43 ? Thats a hell of a price difference for items that appear almost identical. Even on my out of date price list, the difference is only 22p
Whats going on here ?

i think generally you just get the damper unit... no spring or shroud arrived with mine...

Ah, good point Tony.(y)

So other than a Fiat dealer, can you get the shrouds elsewhere?

p.s. Graham got something in the post this morning - thanks.:worship:
