it's a pale metallic blue 1000s , covered in mud so i'll leave the jet washing to graham tomorrow...to uncover the full extent of his rust/holes
hell i've never had a panda with rust before still at least this pandas running !!! no pictures today , just not on the case ...sorry
engine seems smooth, twin sun roof(dont know if they work !)normal oil change and stuff etc needed and possibly a new battery .but at least i wont have to thumb a lift to work tomorrow
actually it was fun to drive home ,makes up for 'floyd' not working

Blimey, another one. It looked quite tidy from the eBay ad, and from the pics the sunroof looked in good nick, better than mine.

ok, well yesterday was my day off work ..so tested out both sets of sun roofs on 'floyd' and 'blue'.Apart from some missing rivets at the front on both sections 'floyds' is good and fully working.gave him a quick polish then covered him back up again as i'm still trying to sort his gearbox out.
'Blue' however is a complete "rust bucket "!!! i opened his sunroof and half of the metal (as was !) fell onto the seats i managed to remove all the moss/algae/animals etc that were living under the roof .....
Eventually i got both roofs closed but dont think i'll open them now till summer !! (just in case they fall apart !)
all photos of rust ,rust and a bit more rust have been taken so i hope graham will post them for me tomorrow.
Sadly 'blues' rust is a bit more than just his sunroof , though on the outside its only his passenger door you'd notice .

Posh - don't worry about the the rust.
It just has to last long enough till you fix Floyd.
Remember that this car was cheap car rental until Floyd is fixed.
Just buy a big roll of gaffer tape, a bunch of cable ties and a can of tyre weld and you can fix almost any thing.
The main thing is that you've got wheels again.

Graham arrives at 9am to see Pand in Field 2 foot deep in Mud with window open
Seller arrives and says: 'Who parked it there?'
12 year old :tosser: boy had pinched it , driven it 50 yards into the field and got stuck - left phone in carnutter:
police found mud all over his house the next day but couldn't look ibn ohine for numbers due to DATA PROTECTION ACT!!!! What a load of toss eh Alan?
Seller looks in phone to get said numbers and hands them to police
Anyway, graham goes back next day and re-negotiates price for muddy car!
CAr condition is now:
Muddy interior
missing passenger wing mirror
broken aerial
All locks working
Starts fine,
1 rusty passenger door 1 good door!
Chassis - pretty excellent!
Engine: hmmm very brown radiator coolant
some kind of slight burning smelll - head gasket?
Gearbox good
suspension, brakes all good
Good tape player!
More when I know!

obviously you'll be changing the coolant... see if it turns... and how fast.
maybe worth pre-emptivly swapping the cylinder head gasket (you can have the head checked to see if it's straight or distorted). that'll cost as much as a new engine but you'll have a good-un rather than an unknown quantity.
that blue one was a good looking thing...

ok i've just come home from lunch to find Graham has totally messed up this thread !!!

How many Pandas have you got now, Gina? Are you and Graham (Sprox) an item? Am I missing something? Didn't you buy that extremely posh panda on eBay originally and do you still have it?
