I'm still looking for our first Panda and I've seen a 1992 Panda 750 Mania advertised not too far away.

Can you folks tell me the specification of the limited edition 750 Mania?

769cc
FIRE engine
5 gears

What else?

Lloydtyphoon, Pandarus - can you help?

Thanks

Steve and I both owned Lloyds car after he sold it on here... But Lloyd had scoured the scrap yards of the north east and fitted everything he could find from more expensive pandas on to his car. Wheel arch ext, Cinq alloys, centre console, 2 door bins etc So he's hard to compare to a normal Mania due to all the extra stuff.

But needless to say, none of the 2 wheel drive pandas where ever that luxurious so it should have at least a wiper on the front, a wiper on the back, a radio and 4 proper seats! lol:D

Also it should have about 34bhp and a habbit of stalling when cold unless you give it plenty of welly!

Hi CT

I love my little mania. The spec is not too luxurious though, unless the first owner added some extras when ordered.

The best of the standard mania spec is the fifth gear, nice on a longer run. It also has rear wash wipe, carpets insead of 'rubber' floor, driver's door pocket and as Jim said, proper seats. It will have a manual choke too. Mine has a radio/casette but not the original fiat one. Unlike my Uno 45 it also has a handbrake light on the dash as standard!

Fuel consumption is A1, I rarely use more than half a tank a month even with daily use. Do you know the colour of this one? They mostly seem to be black!

I don't think 750s are too under powered. Sure it sounds 'fizzy' and a bit lightweight, but as the chav in the Saxo behind me found out last night they are very quick up to about 40mph! I absolutely left him behind!

There seems to have been an abundance of 750s on here of late, sure I would love to own a nice 4 x 4 or a 999cc Colour / Parade but I would be hard pushed to part with my little 750.

Let us know how you get on! Piccies please!

er, yes - I should add that the above bit is true I'm afraid. However, with care and practice you mostly get over it. I put it down to the low bhp...

OK thanks guys.(y)

Next I want to find out what the 900 Dance and the Parade is.

Should I post separate threads for each?

I found this for the dance:

Translated from an Italian: (www.omniauto.it/magazine/articolo/220/fiat_panda.html)
A month [July 1989] later Fiat introduces ennesima the special version of the Panda, the Dance, worthy of famous because it adopts the motor to auctions and balances of 903 cc, than in past had seen on Panda 45. The much rich equipment of series: openable posterior glasses to calipers, heated rear window, tergilunotto, adjustable external small mirror from the inside, increased tires us, new inner coverings and external decorations. The spartana Panda of 1980 is by now far away a memory.

I wonder what a "tergilunotto"

Barry (nuovapanda) has a 900 Dance. I had a 900 a while back. They are actually 903cc OHV engines dating back from the 127. Not the more modern FIRE unit. Don't discount them because of that though, they are well proven engines. The downside is they feel and sound clattery and they aren't as economical as the FIRE engines (no matter what Barry says).

The Parade will have the 999cc FIRE engine in it, the pick of Panda engines IMO. Reliable, easy to work on and economical.

Don't discount the 750 either, they are a hoot and don't feel under powered despite the 34 bhp unless you're wanting to go more than 70 on the motorway.

No Panda will be luxurious, but they are better for that.

There a lot older than that!

I've just found this on the bbc web site....

What may be the world's oldest known cave paintings have been discovered in northern Italy. They are between 32,000 and 36,500 years old.

Archaeologists have found tablets of stone showing images of an early Fiat 903 engine and a human-like creature.

The discovery adds to evidence that people living when Europe was in the grip of the last Ice Age were more sophisticated than was once thought.

The painted slabs were discovered in Fumane Cave, near Verona. Previously this cave has provided stone tools and other evidence of occupation.

You can clearly see the the valve gear on the 903 in the artwork on the stone tablet.
