Hey peeps i don't normally do this so go easy on me.

I've got the nicest most precious panda in the world but the other day coming home from work i pulled up at some traffic lights and noticed my temp gauge creep up so i thought no problems i'll top up the coolant when i get home any way just as i was about to pull off she cut out and wouldn't start up again.

So i popped the bonnet and noticed that water was leaking from my heater matrix so i topped up the coolant with water and left her to cool down but half an hour later she just wouldn't start up.

Shes back home now i've checked the spark plugs, fuels going to the carb, starter motors pretty much brand new, Cambelt intact, distributor's clean and healthy but i just can't understand whats wrong with her.

So i hear you peeps is pros so anyone with some good advice or suggestions please let me know asap?

No excessive smoke from the exhaust and the 3rd and 4th spark plugs were wet but the other two were dry!

There is no sludge in either the oil or the coolant so it doesn't seem as if the heads gone! Plus i replaced the carburettor and still nothing!

I also removed the spark plugs one at a time to check that each cylinder had compression and each cylinder seemed ok!

Wet with fuel or water?

Sorry I'm not trying to be alarmist, but not all head gasket problems show up as sludge. If it's fuel it's flooding if it's water it'll be a crack in the head somewhere letting water in and that would keep the compression up as such.

As far as the flooding is conserned there is an electronic plug at the base of the carb and I think it's affected by the temp of the engine which may be pushing more fuel through?

I would try to dry it out and have another go if it's fuel.

One other thing check the timing incase the belt has slipped but not broken pushing the timing way out.
