Whats is the difference between a normal 4x4 - and a Sisley.
I have tried to look on the net and cannot find anything.
Is it a better 4x4 ? more options ? different parts ?
and what does 'sisley' mean anyway?

As steve said its mechanicaly the same as a normal Panda 4X4,but it came also with an interior to die for, cord seats with the canoe emblems,i will never forget the first time i saw a sisley back 15 years ago when i was at school,it was a metallic red one with front and rear bullbars, the rear bullbar used to fold down to allow you to open the boot!!i havnt seen a rear bar since. That car inspired me to have a panda 4X4.I bought a light green one with twin roofs,My best mate had a blue sisley like Alan's, what a beautiful car that was, even the dash instrument clocks were different, the seatbelts had the sisley emblem on them, the detail was fantastic!! I ended up driving round france in mine at the age of 22,it used to facinate me to see all the different type of panda 4X4's over there in mainland europe,i remember entering a fiat showroom in bordeaux, where i was working back then as a tour guide, and seeing a really special panda 4X4 model called the valdisere with a 1.1inj engine it had everything on it,it took centre stage in the showroom and it look amazing,id never seen a brand new panda 4X4 before!!I remember sitting in it smelling that new car smell,it was a priceless moment for a 23 year old Panda 4X4 nut!:worship: Any how here i am 9years on now owning that model its like a little personal dream come true! Now what was the question again!!!:D

:) blimey -you guys are even more fanatical about your 4x4's than us 'normal (?)' Panda owners :)
Certainly sounds like the Sisley is something a bit special - I shall be looking for one over the next year or so.

But what does Sisley mean ? ie: is it a town in Italy ?or a designer - or an explorer.

Sisely are a design house for Benneton. The Panda project was the first venture by Benneton into motor vehicles and it was used as a launchpad for their go-anywhere skiing clothes ... hence the silly little roof-rack with ski-clips on !
As for the canoe ... no idea:eek:

Other thing, sisley have Steyr Puch transmission.

Sisley was redesigned by Benetton, now the new panda is gona be redesigned by Timberland.

(y)Glad to see you on the forum again thought you had moved back to UK? However any chance of some photos of the side bars as close to the fixings as possible thinking of getting some made in stainless steel:rolleyes:or even a long shot down the bar would be super.
Kind Regards Allen

I think Sisley used the canoe-logo only for a short period.
It also apears to be used most on other sisley fashion items like shoes and (my) sunglasses.

Totally correct !
I couldn't live with myself for being unable to answer this question ... so I went through all my old paperwork (get a life !).
I found a copy of the UK Sisely launch release. It clearly stated that 'only 500 would be released for sale in this country' ... and that they would bear the trademark of the design-house; a canoe !
Hell ... I need a lie-down now ...
...NURSE !

Thanks all.
A friend who has canoed from the west to the east coast of England via the River Sow, which flows passed our house to Stafford and then on via the Trent, saw the canoe logo on my cars, and asked what it represented.
Ted.

Thank you for that !
How come you have Sisely stuff that I haven't ?

...but I have now !
