Re: sisley 4x4 q's

Hi Guys

Help! Please... I have the Porter's guide to replacing the poor cylinder head gasket on my newly beloved sisley :slayer: , however ( I am the nervious type! ) I am confused with the text on how to tighten my head bolts... I am stressing!

Do I need to do a 2 x 90 Deg turn after torque setting? Reason is, when I cracked the bolt when removing they where instanly loose and 90+90, why not 180???...

If anyone can help me with me troubles I am forever thankful!

Regards

it's all about applying even pressure... you are supposed to do all the bolts 90degree (1-10) and then repeat that procedure... not just turn it twice.

this way you clamp the gasket without piching it anywhere and putting undue stress on any one of the bolts.

best of luck with it... make sure you have got a good torque wrench.

I have just blown a breath of relief… Tomorrow is the ‘head on’ day, the torque wrench is good quality (gosh, I need to buy one…) I’ll do the 1-10 90 then 1-10 +90 and follow the reverse loosen procedure!

I’ll let you know how I get on, hopefully running @ 90 and all is cool ;)
