Depends on the parts and what Panda you get. The Cinq Sporting alternator is the same as the one on my 1000 FIRE, no doubt some other engine bits will be interchangeable. Cinq/Sei 13" alloys will fit, as will the bolts.

And in a 2WD Panda you can put 1108cc and 1242 (well, any FIRE engine) in without too much trouble. 4x4s are a different story due to the transmission.

i have a manifold that would be going spare, alternator, wheels, throttle body, pads and disks

engine swapping would be a no-no, it is a classic car and should not be messed with, i dont fancy being strung up by the balls for ruining a car

i imagine that i will only change the wheels on it, as i would like a winter set and a summer set

i dont want a 750 dave, i imagine that they would be slow, i wouldnt mind a test drive in it though :chin:

Nope, Panda 750s aren't slow, they're actually quite nippy. The lack of BHP only becomes a problem with a full compliment of passengers or if you meet a steep hill. If you happen to meet a steep hill with 3 passengers you need to ask them to walk and you can pick them up at the top. :)

At the risk of losing Dave a sale (sorry Dave) I would say don't buy the 750. If you want a Sisley then get a Sisley. I've been Panda chasing for my ideal Panda for ages and I've still not found one I want to keep forever. It's out there somewhere though.

:) well then maybe we should all get our heads together with the kid off the punto section as i dont want a bloody 'posh' 4x4 lhd just a lhd 4x4 :D  and i'm sure hes still itching to do a rhd/lhd conversion ! LOL
now if he could change that red e-bay sisley over to lhd.....

NO worries Steve:D
AT the end of the day - a car is only worth what someone will pay for it!!
Having just spent £400 on his MOT though . . ..
And also, a Sisley is only a Sisley because of the Canoes everywhere! STill mecahnically identocal to mine (except the headlight washers!!!!!) Lol!

And the price of the 4 x 4 (and indeed quality examples of 2 x 4) is going up all the time! Proof if ever it was needed that our cherished little cars are indeed classics...!

Can anyone give me information about Panda Selecta's, the good, bad and ugly bits.

I have absouloutly no information about these, am I correct in thinking these are 1108 engines, the same as the cento spi

Thanks

Gaz

Early ones had 999cc engines, later ones had the 1108cc. Both were FIRE units. Personally I would say steer clear. They are a hoot to drive, but if the gearbox lets go it's scrap, the repair is hugely expensive often more than the car is worth, and they do break. The gearbox also needs a regular oil and filter change which isn't cheap either, around £80 a time if I remember correctly and that's just buying the fluid and filter and doing it yourself. Obviously Chris Watson will disagree as he owns a Selecta. :)

so a no then :p

it the blue one on ebay, L, 1108, 32k

i am keeping my options open if i do not get the sisley - i want a panda so gonna have one :D

Obviously i am going to disagree with Steve on this issue :D. The gearboxes only go wrong if not properly maintained, which just means that you have to change the fluid and filter every 40 thousand miles, and not use the low gear at speeds of over 40mph. The selecta box is very nicely set up for town driving, as the acceleration is very nippy up to 50mph, but the car tops out at 90mph (private road, honest guv  ). The biggest problem you will have is the fuel injection system but the only thing that seems to go wrong with that is the lambda sensor (needs a new one every 70 thousand miles).
