Just a message to warn people not to be stupid like me! 4000 miles ago I fitted a new set of Intermotor points, and recently the car has become harder to start and spluttered a bit. Checked the points and they were closed up, reason for this was the little fibre tab that touches the dissy shaft had worn right down! Reason for that was some plonker not greasing the shaft first...me, old points back in now.
 
First thing I did when i got my 750FIRE was find a dizzy from an injection. Wired straight in and cost less than a set of points. Absolutely no probs with the timing after that (except when the a/r diaphragm broke and it ran like a DOG).
Consider it a good investment..
