If any of the coil wiring isn't right you won't get a spark
but i would get all the other electrical stuff... like cabin light and hazards. I currently am missing those luxuries.

so i will wire up the relay properly (fingers crossed i get theright one) but i think i will also hunt down a earthing wire... just incase.

anyone got access to an eper thing?

i would really like a list of the parts used with the front suspension.
rubber bushes on the front struts would be most useful.

but i'm after details onthe whole lot really... i'm thinking of treating the car to some new dust guards etc... and caliper mounting brackets.

thanks.

There not cheap but will raid the eper manual later, you got the engine started yet?
nah, until i have a good earth cable there didn't seem much point trying... and when it is running it won't move because the front brakes are so tight :)

better to sort these things out at the weekend... but i need the parts to do that.

Wind the calipers back, I take it you replaced the discs that's why it's tight as there will be much more thickness in there. They wound back quite easy when I was removing them
eah, the pistons seem free enough... i could push them back into the caliper without too much hassle. the discs seem to be interfered with by the caliper mount and the bolts that secure it... i'll have a shufty later in the week. one side at a time...

Did you put back the correct bolts, Yes I know I snapped one  they should be no-where near. So it's not the caliper that's stuck it's the mount?

Just wondering if you bolted the mount on the wrong side of the hub, in fact I recon that's your problem.

This is how they should be.......

ok i only have 2 bolts when i should have 4... i secured the tops of the brackets and left the lower points for later. i have one fro reference and placed that bit of threaded rod with the nut halfway along it rusted inplace as the second.

*edit* Alan that top bolt looks odd... is it standard?

the bit that the bracket mounts onto has a lip of metal turned towards the engine so you can't mount it the wrong way... upsidedown maybe if you have both sides mixed up... but they look the same either way up.

the bolts i mounted first time touched the disk (they are about 2.5cm long) so i put think washers onto the bolt to stop that happening.

the best way is to buy new parts for the whole assembly :) then i can be sure.(y) and it'll look nice.

alas... it was not the earthing cable... i got a fresh looking one off a tempra at the local scrappies and fitted it.. same result.
I'll have to have a serious look under the car at a later date... found another errant wire today though... came from the left-back of the gearbox... it seemed to go logical to connect those to the one poking out from under the heater. I'm guessing it was the reversing light or something. Alan I should have been looking over your shoulder when you disconnected this sort of thing  ...

as for the front brakes i solved the mystery with a little Mr Spock... it turned out the discs i had received from shop4parts have an internal diameter of 11cm across rather than the 10cm of the ones i took off the car. the brackets were little pressing against it more and more the tighter i attached them. Problem kinda solved... I just need to throw money at it...

PS. if anyone with a Mk2 Panda wants pair of front discs feel free to collect them...

Discs at the local motor factors here is £4.80 each so not too much money. The wire sounds like the one that goes to the 4x4 switch. Sorry about the earth? no idea?? maybe get a multi meter & check every contact to find the culprit

I shall borrow that motor factors number that you have... I think the that the spares people at Rayrigg are having a laugh... gearrod bush's 0.80p each minimum quantity 20 pieces... if you can dig the number out and i will call them tomorrow perhaps...

I don't really know how a multimeter works mate... i skipped that particular home economics class perhaps...

I can only think of taking pics and doing a visual spot the difference...
