hi there u all.
im new to this, so here goes :) my and my fiancee both have 750L's. mine is a blue G reg, and hers is a white Jreg (1991).
now, heres the fault. when driving/stationary or anytime the ignition is on, intermittantly all power goes off, i mean everything, except the coolant temp gauge goes up (which suggests a faulty earth) wot suprises me tho, is how ALL electrics r lost. when this happens with the engine off, if u turn off the ignition and then turn on the hazard lights it makes and intermitant buzzing noise but no flash. i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to where to start looking, i think it is a common fault effectin all systems. any ideas chaps!??

thanx for readin this :)

Hazard lights should work regardless of ignition switch position:
they're hard wired off fuse 1, which is direct from the alternator and battery.

Try your battery connections:
clean posts.
nice tight connections.

Earths for the majority of the electrics at the front of the car go to the inner wing behind the headlamp on the gearbox side.

Early cars up to 199? have a connector block bolted to the inner wing, with "spade" push on terminals on the (black) cable ends.
They cause lots of amusement.

Later cars (certainly from 1993) have all those cables crimped into one large tag washer which is bolted to the inner wing.
That just works until the inner wing rots away...

There is a substantial cable or strap to the engine/gearbox which provides the odd 100 amps for the starter motor.
Its location has been different on the two (1990, 1993) I've looked at recently.
You'll know what it is when you find it:)
