Looking great Alan, but get some blackener on that rear bumper and the back end will look ace. :D The wheels on the Barchetta aren't as bad as I previously thought having seen them close up now. :)

bit of TLC is exactly what was required after i got mine back from the body shop... interior refit and swapped the transparent indicators for the orange just to see how... and metalic t-cut and wax n buff... saw many of the rough patches disappear. and it ended up looking quite respectable.

Er, I did

But I got up this morning and a seagull had cr8pped all over my car!!!

Russ

Bloody seagulls.

Mine got the works this weekend, very, very thorough clean and polish including chipsticking the stonechips and scratches. It's now so clean I just go over it with a microfibre cloth every other morning and it's completely spotless again!

Got a cool picture of chipsticking. :)

... errr... no, i don't think i am understanding what the chopstick business is about...

please elaborate... why would you be scratching the surface with a piece of wood?

In case he isn't...

Chipstick comes with Tutle Wax Colour Magic Plus and is essentially a wax crayon the colour of your paint. You fill in the scratches with the wax then use the same colour polish to blend the wax in and put some colour back into the paint.

The end result is near scratch-free colourful panels. My brother recommended using some AutoGlym Super Resin Polish to bring back the original colour so the 12 year old paint matched the area of respray on the rear arch after an eejit ploughed into my parked car on a snowy day last year.

As for that picture, there's a big length of "colouring in" because there's a whopper of a scratch going across my bonnet. Know what did it? An absolute arsehole named Richard from college who decided to empty a sachet of mayo onto my bonnet one morning, the foil in turn digging into the paint.

What an absolute sh!t he was. I know where he works, though...

ok, i wasn't and i had no idea what a chipstick is... because hey i have only owned a car for a while... and scratches were the least of the problems.

so if i manage to get one for metalic blue i may give it a go (they don't do metalic colours do they...?)

well my car looked a lot better after i t-cut it on the roof... it removed a lot of the surfing wax.

I highly doubt you'll find a metallic stick of wax mate. You'll have to settle for the pastel colour closest suited to your paint. I couldn't decide on light or dark blue and went for the darker blue in the end as my paint's got a purplish depth to it.

I would recommend the light blue polish/crayon combo but I don't know if it'll be any good, try normal polish on the scratches first as they can often be killed or well hidden with it. :)

Tony using t-cut is ok to clean the paint/laquer but once done you have to polish/wax over it or it will get worse than before as it is basically a cutting agent and removes any protection on the paint or laquer where metalic paint is concerned.
