I have compiled a list of new parts I require for the rebuild of the Road Rat. I have checked the ePER parts catalogue and have all the numbers required and a rough idea of cost (used V17 so prices a little out of date) so before I go off to my local FIAT dealer to place an order is there anything I can do to get a discount? For instance, does the forum have any agreements with dealers or suppliers? Is there an official club I can join which will entitle me to discounts at dealers? You get the idea. Any info greatfully received.

What part's do you need as I will be coming to you I can have a look if I have got anything on your list.

Dave.

Cheers people. Here are the pics from the ePER catalogue with the parts I need:

In the first pic I need parts 2, 3 and 4 (2 of each). I presume part number 3 has an integral rubber gaiter? That's how it looks on the actual prop shaft. Both gaiters are totally wrecked on mine.

In this next pic I need part number 2. One of mine is fine but the rubbers are tearing away from the casting on the other one.

In the last pic I need part numbers 11 and 18.

I'm happy to accept 2nd hand parts as long as they're in good condition. According to my calculations this little lot will cost around £140 from a dealer. I appreciate that the propshaft parts will probably have to be bought as part of a complete propshaft 2nd hand.

I know where there is a breakers with a 4x4 in it's possession... and there's a pretty good chance the drive shafts are in one piece.

Beware

Once you have unleashed the propshaft from its shackles you need the force of an average atom bomb to replace it. It really needs a special compression rig, but try finding a Fiat garage that still has one.:(

Good luck.

Can you enlighten me a bit more regarding this statement? There are three distinct shafts. What exactly do you mean?

Where? If it's near you it's a long way for me to travel. I won't be up North again until sometime this summer but if it's still there then...

Thanks Tony. I've sent an e-mail to them. Fingers crossed! Looking at the pictures, it seems to still have the inclinometer and it's also got roof bars. These are sought after items among Panda enthusiats are they not? Have you made the forum in general aware?

The Sisley has been brought up before... it's been at their yard for a couple of months... Sprox had said it had been crushed already so i hadn't chased it up until about a week ago.

I had made an enquiry about the spring leafs and the rook rack and the drivers seat... but until i pay for it... fair game to anyone really isn't it.

oh and they only seem to answer email every few days... and today was that day.
