I have the fiat Panda 1000 fire model. I asked this question on many forum world wide but never got really an answer...
I have a chance to buy for 300 € the fiat uno 1.3 turbo engine with gearbox...Know, deos anyone know if the uno turbo engine fits in a fiat panda model?

Well the uno turbo is a cheap engine relatively. The 1.3t has 100hp and that's enough for the panda.... ;)
Hope to fit the engine and gearbox with no big complications in the panda.

the Y10 doesn't use a FIRE engine, the 1.3 uno engine is not a FIRE engine. the 1000 panda engine is a FIRE. i wouldnt expect it to go in very easily tbh. custom engine mount time.

Has anyone tried to put into a panda a fiat uno turbo engine?has any experience on thaht engine fiting other cars?

ive seen it put into a cinq and a sei before. with the centos, swapping from the 1108 FIRE engine to the 1242 FIRE engine is easy. swapping from the old 899/903cc OHV engine to a FIRE engine is not easy. And swapping from the 1108 FIRE engine to a UT or GT engine (both non FIRE) is not easy. A lot of work goes into them swaps.

What *might* work, is getting the Y10's engine mountings and using them on the UT engine. IF they fit the panda and IF they line up with the UT engine.

Oooo now i'm feeling sad :(
That means that maybe the uno turbo engine is not the one for the panda...
What do you thnk which engine would be a great engine o fit the panda if not the UT?

i'm by no means an expert with Pandas. I don't know what fits or not. I was just saying it won't be the easiest swap in the world and would need some custom fabiraction. with the centos, to get the engine to fit you need cut and reweld the inner wings. panda engine bay has a bit more room though i think :)

Well panda has more room :)
Now i don't know what to do...if to buy a turbo engine and risk the swap or to get a 1242 engine...

or 1242 engine and turbo that.. :D

i dunno how the fueling is handled on pandas, some of them arent EFI are they. i should probably head back to the cento section  :D

my panda is a 1000 fire 33kw ;)
Well the problem is that a UT engine can be founjd in my town for 300€ with gearbox but the 1242 and than turbo the 1242...hm...it would be a very big expense :(

Well, if upgrading a 1108 'cento to a 1242 isn't too much trouble, then surely a 1108 (selecta) Panda to a 1242 can't be much harder?

true, but isnt the 1000 FIRE panda a 999cc FIRE unit? And if its running a carb and dizzy then upping that to a 1242 punto engine isnt as easy - it'll need all the electronics to control it - or need setting up to run on the carb i guess.

Well i think that in the end i'll find a cheap 1242 engine to put it in....i have at home a k21 turbine ;) ;)
Imagine that,complited! :)

this was a ford turbo unit if i remember right:

Now i'm searching the forum and i found out that there is a fiat panda 1.1 turbo kit giving 100hp+, is that true?
Can someone tell where to find the pics on this forum of tuned racing pandas...i found a white panda but cannot find the panda again...

Novitec used to do a Panda turbo a long time ago.

Going the 1242 route is quite an easy one. You can us the original carb and rejet it or convert to a twin choke carb, giving you quite some more power. Alternatively you can use two twin down draught carbs with a custom made inlet manifold.

Porting and flowing the head and a reprofiled cam should give you quite some power.
