Just doing a major overhaul of the wife's Panda 4x4. Full suspension and brakes all the way round. While doing the front shocks and springs, I had ordered a new bearing that sits in the top. Should that bearing be oiled, greased or put back together with nothing. Just clean out the bit that it sits in. As its not sealed I would imagine that oil or grease would get caked in all sorts of road grime and wear the bearing out prematurely.
What are your thoughts.

I always greased mine, moly grease for me but just because I've got pots lying around. It's sufficiently protected up at the top of the strut not to fill with dirt, and it's sandwiched in enough to protect it and stop leakage.
