Hi All

Bought a Panda CLX ( 94 M ) last week :D, not MOT, Sorn, needs a few jobs nothing major, had it dropped off at my regular MOT Station/Garage to carry out the work to get her roadworthy again, while on test we noticed Temp gauge and fuel gauge at max reading, car was running fine, no overheating etc, not sure of fuel level though, any ideas of what to check that could be causing this issue ?.

Car has been stood for a while and the former owner was in the process of getting her roadworthy again as and when time and other projects and life in general allowed, then decided to sell (y).

Hope to get hold of the car as soon as possible, the lads are doing work as and when they have time ...., painful wait, lol, will post announcement of my sweet little Panda as soon as possible

below is a picture of the earthing point of the clocks and other dash related electronics. now on yours you should not have spade type terminals like on the older models. so your issue may be rotted copper inside the wires its self. its easy to fix, just keep stripping the wire back till you get to bright copper then run a new length.
also note that you can get a fault like this if the earth strap below the cabin air fan heater box can sometimes separate from the body leaving only the engine and battery connected together, at the same time looking like its still connected to the body.
test this out by connecting a jumper cable from the engine to the body and see if the electrical issues stop.

hope this helps!

Cheers, very comprehensive advice ;), will get on it as soon as I get her back, provided my MOT guys ain't sussed it already :), along with other jobs to get her roadworthy, thx
