Cross-posted from the Uno section, as it's the same engine and there's rather more activity here.

Can anyone give me the specifications for the fuel pump pushrod on the 999cc carb FIRE engine?

Total length and how far it should stick out of the cylinder head?

Trying to troubleshoot a poor fuel flow and I know that the cams and pushrods wear, but I can't find any figures I can use to check mine.

Thanks

Anybody?

Alternatively, anyone know where I can get a new one?

I know the issue, I've got the same - no fuel flow and it seems as if the cam is only partly actuating the fuel pump. Ideally to troubleshoot you need to know the correct length for the pushrod to check that for wear, and the max/min lenth it protrudes from the head to see if the cam lobe is worn down (if you are getting full travel but the rod is a little short it might be possible to thin down the spacer between the head and pump??) I'd measure up but I suspect mine is wrong too so not a lot of point!

That's the problem exactly.

And that is indeed the part in question.

Shame they don't give the length, to be honest I'm rather surprised that Haynes don't, maybe they give it in the Panda or Cinq manuals? The FIRE is a bit of an afterthought in the Uno book.

Going to do some thinking now, as I have a spare 1.1 FIRE head from a Punto with a 176 cam in that I was considering swapping onto the Uno. Electric fuel pump is looking cheaper than push rod + new fuel pump.

Hummmmm...

Maybe a coincidence but we lost fuel pressure from our Uno's pump (same set up) last month. A new £20 mechanical pump fixed it.
Could be that the internal diphragms are now at the end of their lives or that fuel recipes are no longer friendly towards them..
