Hello i'm new here. I have done a 1.2 16v conversion/swap from a 2001 Fiat Bravo (originally the engine was a 1.1l (1108) MPI unit. Now, everything is fine and running without any problems for a almost a year except my cooling fan because i just don't know which wire from the ECU (Fiat Bravo) triggers it. (i have wired an internal switch so when the temperature rises i turn it on manually). Could anyone please offer any help?

Use the blue and white from the original loom or the new loom it’s not from the ecu it’s a permenat live to the fan then switches through the thermostat to earth negative this means it can cool after the engine is stopped.

I think that on the MPI it goes over the ECU, the ECU should trigger the relay that then triggers the fan. Also i'm using the Bravo ECU and loom... Is there a wiring diagram or something to help?

Are you using a Bravo with the electronic throttle, or is it an earlier one with a cable?

If it has the electronic throttle then the ECU can control the fan in the same way the original Panda MPI ECU could and it is just a case of connecting it correctly.

If it uses a cable then the ECU is the same as early Puntos and will not have control of the fan I don't think. The best way I can think to overcome that is to fit an earlier Panda radiator which has the boss for a fan switch (presuming the later ones don't have this already but blanked off.) With the fan switch installed you can just wire it up in the same way as an earlier Panda.

It has an electronic throttle, it's a 188a5000 engine code. We managed to wire everything except that one wire :/
