Technical Ceased gear lever on 1995 CVT

Hello all,

MY automatic panda was playing up while driving, the engine would excessively rev and accelerate really slowly... then started to stall when stopped with gear lever in D. I got to a set of traffic lights and then the lever would not move from N to D also nasty grinding noises when attempting to move the lever. I have had to push it and dump it in an industrial estate for now. Does anyone think this sounds fatal or possibly some linkage gone or something?

I'm quite new to pandas so please forgive my lack of knowledge

there is a possibility that it could be the micro switches on the pedals. try checking those out.
sadly my knowledge on the selecta boxes is limited.

Make sure the accelerator isn't being impeded by floor mats first. If it still persists then disconnect the microswitches on the accelerator pedal. It will make the car a bit less smother on moving off however will stop the clutch from being constantly engaged - as such will prevent excessive clutch wear and the grinding issues when going into gear.
