Thanks Jacob but I am a bit confused by that.

If there is supposed to be 20mm gap then where is the inner spot welded to the outer sill at that point?

It’s not it’s a void but can be corroded further in that open section . Which is very difficult to repair without sill removal.

There should be a void between that suspension mount and the inner sill yes, but the inner sill should come down more or less vertically to join that seam with the outer right to the front of the wheel arch, the back half of the sill has rotted out at that point on yours by the look of it. Got the same problem on Roofus but have to say that I discovered it the day before the last MOT so mine is rather more hidden than repaired at the minute - car's laid up pending me getting round to sorting it properly now.

OK thanks.
I think I am resigned to the fact that either all or at least part of the sills will have to come off.

With a little pre fabricating and manufacture of closing down the void a good strong repair although not to the original
To fiat can be made avoiding sill removal

Thank you. I will try to figure out what is supposed to be fixed where and then have a go.
as I said above, it's a bit tricky on mine because I think the driver's side has not been repaired before, but has now rotted, and the passenger side has been repaired before, but now needs repairing again, so as a result of that they look different from each other.
I will have a go, when it warms up a bit!

Well I am slowly (very) working my way round the old Panda Colour and I came across a case of tin worm a bit worse than I expected.
On close examination it looks like the chassis leg near the front suspension mount has previously been patched over, no doubt for an mot.
Can that section be safely chopped out and a new piece welded in?
Also when I look from underneath at the front suspension mount area I see that the driver's side has a triangular shaped fillet piece, and the passenger side doesn't (the passenger side is where the above-mentioned rot is).
Is that normal or has a piece gone missing ?
Any comments and advice as always gratefully received.

Thank you. Yes I amk making sure of that, but I don't think the bodge-merchant in the past has done that because the patches themselves have rotted through!
I was just wondering if there is a good way to fix that area of the car.
I guess I will cut / grind off the holed patch and then see what remains!
