General Staffordshire and Peak District 4x4 Weekend - 23rd and 24th September

Another day of Greenlane searching with Freddy in preparation for the September Peak District Panda meet. Spent 60 minutes trying to recover the cross from getting stuck, next time we will remember to pack a sling.

Well it started positive with a panda size lane following with nice scenic lanes around the peak a diversion from the route being greedy got Freddy stuck in double ruts
Fully sumped wheels in fresh air Super slick tyres too ah well got a nice tan whilst digging pushing rocking rolling bouncing ect
All good fun That one is definitely off the route !!!

Just 3 weeks to go now, so time for a small update on proceedings.

As Adam and Steve have been posting we have been out sorting out Saturdays route, we have a good number of new lanes to do, and will be out the week before to finalise routes. We may have to make some changes on the fly depending on weather conditions etc.

At this point we are intending to split up into three groups, all departing at different times, this will mean we will only have 4 or 5 cars in a group which should make things easier all round. There are one or two lanes that have potential for scratches and I'm sure those of you with the newer or more shiny vehicles will be keen to avoid these, so we will have one group that avoids them. Anyone who would like to be in this group, please let me know.

There is still plenty of space in the holiday cottage, so if anyone wants to upgrade from camping that is no problem. I should hopefully have some photos of the cottage to upload next week which may tempt you!

Camping this year will be in the garden, rather than the field as last year, with the hope that we will avoid the mud this time. The garden is accessible with cars, so everyone will be able to park next to their pitch! We will request that everyone camping who uses the facilities in the cottage pays £10 to cover our costs.

On Sunday we will be heading to the pay and play site, please remember that this is £25 per car, and you will need cash. If not taking a car round then you can pay £2 to be a spectator.

If anyone is arriving on Friday afternoon/evening please let me know, we plan to do something on Friday night if there is a number of us.

Finally, I think most people came last year so know where they are going, but I will send out directions and exact location to everyone the week prior.

Non scratchy lanes for me too please, not that I've got a car at the moment because I got rammed by an Audi A3 last week

, anyway the garage have promised it will be repaired in time

, so fingers crossed. My dashcam certainly paid for itself though because as soon as AVIVA saw the footage they waived my £250 excess, which was a small consolation I suppose,

A sudden decision to venture out on Sunday afternoon added to the lanes list finding some wonderful packhorse routes through the peak
Managed all without Any damage ,an extreme climb out of Bakewell was found Brian made it look easy ,but the driver( myself )had little faith . Then through Chatsworth grounds and a nice boulder strewn climb of a mile or so IMG_1505248742.888634.jpg

Sorry we had been to a wedding and had to collect the Toyota so
It was a impromptu [emoji36][emoji23]

Where was my invite?!

Actually the little lane from bake well was severe the crosser may have struggled , the lane from bull int thorn was brilliant which leads all the way to millers dale linking with the brushfeild preistcliff loop and then back to chatsworh

No worries Steve, the Cross was/is in a million pieces anyway, I'm halfway though fitting the new interior, tyres should hopefully arrive this week too. Sump guard needs some attention also

I'm sure my Land Rover would have coped though;) Will give you a call tomorrow if you are about?

The mightypanda now has rx8 seats and 20mm spacers on the rear wheels. And, it is looking real pretty, so definitely non-scratchy lanes for us. We will try and keep our wheels from falling off this time, must check the stabiliser nuts before we set off!
