Went to start the Mk1 today. The second in a holy trilogy of Panda problems today: ignition switch appears to have failed. When turning the key to engage the starter: nothing. Charged battery. Changed the starter motor for a new one. Still nothing. Attempting to start with headlights lit shows the starter is not draining any current. Electrical tester on small red wire to starter shows nothing when key turned. However applying 12v to the spade on the starter kicks it into life.

Does anyone know if the Mk1 ignition switch is different (bet it is - groan), and does anyone have one?? :worship:

Hi David, Sorry been a bit hectic over here and missed your thread. I can have a dig around and see if I have a spare. But won't be till next week as too much happening this weekend. Mk2 ignition switch might work ok, but I do know now some of the indicator stalk binnacle connectors are not the same :(

Give me a poke if I don't get back to you, I seem to be losing the plot lately and keep forgetting things! I'm only 30 this does not bode well for me haha!
