Hello FF members. I have just joined and wanted to say a hello direct to Panda Classic folk, I presume this is okay and does not conflict with forum rules.

I purchased a 1991 Panda 4x4 as a joke car for my girlfriend 3yrs ago. My neighbor had owned it since 1998 and was garaged for last 6 yrs. It needed a lot of work to pass the MOT but now she passes each year with ease. I am always surprised at how much attention the Mighty Panda receives, mainly from young people. The garage that fixed her up loved the car so much, they got their apprentice to under-seal her FOC. My girlfirend has now purchased a little 500 Abarth so the Mighty Panda has to go. I advertised and received some great attention but for some reason, I was a little resistant to sell.

I was scouring the Internet and stumbled upon pandaraid and I started thinking, what a fantastic adventure.! I would be very interested to participate in some off-roading or green lane meetings to get a feeling of what might be involved. I am in Portsmouth and I would be interested to know if there are any gatherings south of London.

The Mighty Panda will need some preparation, so I would very much like to connect to the experts in this forum. I also have a load of spares which I would be happy to pass on to anyone that needs them.

I look forward to connecting with enthusiasts and I bid you all a good day.

Warm Regards,
Richard (Mighty Panda)

Hi Richard,

Welcome to the forum and indeed a belated welcome to Panda ownership.

There are now several off-roading meets throughout the year but all are a fair bit North of you. Meet threads generally come up a couple of months prior to the actual event so keep an eye out. The closest one to you which will be in September time is Staffordshire. We have a fair few members down south but there are no events on the calendar in that area as yet. Here's the video from the last meeting we had a few weeks ago...

Thanks for the offers of the spare parts but if you have room, keep hold of them - you're bound to need them at some point!

Any questions on preparing your car feel free to post them here or use the search engine within the forum as there are loads of topics along the required lines.

Have fun with your Panda and we hope to see you at an event soon :)

Hi Richard

What is the budget? It looks like the cars are all pretty standard. Here is a video on preparing a Panda for the event.

Hi and welcome!

Sounds like you've got the panda flu nicely :slayer: I've been on the Pandaraid rally if you need any specific event advice, but a load of us can help out with general off roading prep. I'm quite swamped with car prep for a sprint at crystal palace in London so might be a bit slow to answer but will try to keep an eye out.
