General 4x4 Fuel Tank

OK so a very nice man called me from Italy today. He should have asked if I was sitting down. The tanks sound fantastic quality - fully galvanised etc. However they're €280 each (some discount if we were to buy say 10, would get down to €250 each). That's a lot.

Hopefully there will be a payroll delivery to the Fiat car plant soon..

If you're planning some sort of heist using Pandas as getaway vehicles, surely it would need to be in Cowley?

Is that delivered David? It is pricey, but shipping adds a fair bit usually.

Doubt it Gav. When comes to shipping parts from Italy I've got odd filling that Italy is in different Zone as it is much more expensive i.e compared with Germany. You're looking on 60 euro on the top per tank, but if 10 pieces is shipped on pallet it would be less per each.

That's what I expect, but if shipping was in, it's not quite so bad. €250 is about £200 I think, so if postage is included it's expensive but maybe worth considering as a quality item on a car you're keeping for ever.

I must admit the price didnt seem as bad as I thought it would be. How much is a second hand good tank on the market these days?

Well they aren't anything, because they don't come up for sale much.

To be honest, although I think I just saved mine when I first got the car, it was marginal, and it's only the amount of hammerite I slapped on that kept it from holing. It may or may not stay in one piece, so I'd consider one too. (y)

I just so happen to have a second hand 4x4 tank I bought as I thought LVJ's looked poor, Andy has it stored at the moment somewhere.

If anyone desperately needs one to get their car back on the road I'd let it go but I can't remember how much I paid for it!

I thought someone was looking into getting plastic ones made up?
