Since the prices for a new fuel tank for 4x4 are crazy { 400 euro for a two pressed sheets of metal?:bang:} there is a very cheap alternative, except of making the whole new tank for half the price of the new one. I do not say it is very good original option, but it is cheap and functional.I am talking about fiat 126p tank. I do not know about avialability of these in UK but in Poland the cheapest new 126p tank costs less than 20GBP, original fiat products are priced about 40GBP with all new accesories.The tank is smaller= 21L, needs some additional self fabricated fasteners to be mounted under the panda, and some additional few cm of rubber pipe, but it could be a cheap good option. Imagine damaging 400 euro tank during offroading and compare with 50 euro tank Guys in Poland use them. Maby someone can try to make a prototype fasteners and new piece of connecting pipe and to buy few tanks is Poland,or wherever cheap and easy to post to UK?

^ I created this thread to look at suspension but a couple of y'all are talking about the 4x4 fuel tank on it. Andy is going to have a word with FURY AutoWorx to see if they will make a 4x4 fuel tank. The guy who runs AutoWorx is a friendly guy who has made fuel tanks, suspension bits and more for other older cars so perhaps something can come out of this there!

Yeah, I was looking into it but then I got hold of a refurb unit via the two Andys and it never happened. My mechanic did say he could look at it if we had a spare one to make molds from.

I think Andy and Freddy have the largest collection of tanks between them. I had to get a new one for the injection system and it was still metal. I don't understand why they made 2wd plastic and 4wd metal.

Freddy, put an extra coat of something non-rusty on it will you?

I still have an old rotten tank that I am keeping so a mold can be made, hopefully resulting in a plastic version. The last company I asked wanted a silly amount for the finished item, mainly due to the fact that I wanted less than ten made!

When galvanized ones are available from Italy, is there any need to look at having plastic ones made? Cost is unlikely to be any less for plastic and galvanized steel should last 30 years as a minimum.

New tank from C.T.R. just fitted to my 03 4x4. Looked like a quality item to me, and good service from signore Franco. A little search made me uncertain on oval pump hole or not, and carb vs injection tanks are different, so I simply didn't risk byuing used or something on subito.it etc, and end up arguing in italian. Happy with my choice!
