I have just put on the sprouts for Christmas day, is this too late?

I had heard that Easter is the time to put the sprouts on, but I didn't know how many people were coming for dinner then.

Is this going to ruin Christmas for everyone?

That's what the orrible smell was when I drove past earlier! :p

I think they take about 20 - never sure if that's minutes, hours, days or months though......

Sorry, that may have been the Kebabs we had late last night ;)

Can anyone be more definitive on this?

I may have to abandon Christmas dinner and just have a B-B-Q (I wonder if the turkey will fit on the rotisserie?)

Ah well, Christmas dinner cooks tip: it only matters how long the sprouts cook for if someone has some intention of actually eating them

In most cases it's actually easier not to cook them at all, maybe rinse them in boiling water immediately before serving to give a convincing cooked steamy effect in the bowl, then throw away as usual after the meal.

I am liking this idea, although we had some friends over for Christmas eve dinner and sprouts cooked for 10 mins went down well  this could be where I'm going wrong, maybe I'm over cooking them...........

What sprouts are these you are talking about? Bean sprouts, boy sprouts, water spouts?
not really into cooking - more of a microwave the pack kinda person - or vegetables, is gravy a vegetable?
