OK, so has anyone got any idea where who when, or what the part number is?dave said:it gets harder than that, my local motor factors listed 2 for the 1108, i went with the cheepest and that was the right one,
I trust you aren't talking about the belt part number...christopher watson said:its called Pringles, and is in north shields.

well i thought that the timing belt on shop4parts was fairly economically priced... £7.09 (not so bad... i thought)christopher watson said:sorry, havent got that, but thought you might like to know who sells cheap belts (i could even buy it and send it to you).
that's excellent news... I know where my next one is coming from. anyone know how to take off a crank wheel when there isn't anything stopping it turning?totnesmonster said:Had a check today and both the 999cc and 1108cc one were the same length. I put a 999cc belt on the 1108 and it ran fine too, so it shouldn't be a problem.
No wait ... I am thinking that since i cut the alternator belt with a knife and removed the alternator I can infact just lift it off the wheels, there isn't anything trapping it in anymore... i thinkAlan.D said:??? loosten the tensioner which should get it slack enough to slide it off or am I putting my foot in it again
The engine has no hoses connected nothing connecting the transmission... it will never turn over again. I just want the belt because the black panda was well maintained until someone drove 12" into the left side.totnesmonster said:Not sure with a selecta, you could take the starter motor off and jam the flywheel gear with a big screwdriver, but mine came off easily enough with just the engine compression to stop it turning. Don't leave a socket or spanner on the bolts afterwards then start the engine like I did a while back, it makes one hell of a bang!!
