I found this mentioned on the breakers in Essex thread... Mine didn't come with these ... are they on the clx/selecta models or is it a 4x4 thing only?

Neither of mine have them. I just clean and wire brush the arches well and apply Hammerite with Waxoyl. My old 4X4 had them but I didn't bother fitting them to the other Panda.

must be a 4x4 thing then... I had a quick look while i was underneath the car yesterday ziplock securing the bumper, and i noticed there were no hole for bolts/screws anywhere on the body.

I think it is a 4x4 thing ... but they're more trouble than they're worth.
