I have been looking in horror at the lump of rust that is the underside of my CLX. this is the fist time i had bothered since i got it to have a serious gaze behine the 3 black and 1 wheels. I hadn't realised they had used bit of the Titanic as brake calipers...

So are there any real alternatives to the standard dark brown fitted as standard... or are they supposedto be black?

I have only heard of the twin pot calipers from need for speed... but i think they are made of solid costalotium or something. Is it enough to stick green stuff pads to replace the standard fiat lancia efforts?

Any insider knowledge on the matter would be appreciated.

does your selecta have a CLX badge, as it shouldnt have?

i have heard of a panda selecta owner who uses black diamond pads, on original selecta discs, and he says the car stops quickly and smoothly.

ERm... yes. it does... and it's a selecta (definately auto i checked) and as you can see in the pic... however considering it's metalic blue and the only one i have ever seen in that colour it may well have been chopped shopped and ressurrected for all I know.

cost me £190 though ... so i can't complain that much.

I can sort you some six slot disc with pads from Red Dot. We used to have these on the race Panda and I have it on my Panda 4x4.
I did not find a better pad yet.

AHHH you are just the man i wish to talk to... I am obviously looking to flush money down the drain and i also wish to get this particular panda to a point in it's life that i think it deserves. I also has to keep my wife from killing herself for the near future at least.

However first you are going to have to tell me what a 6 slot is...

The calipers a big blocks or rust at the moment... I don't mind cleaning them up, but it's not something i jump at... any clue how much a new one is? (caliper)

EDIT - oldschool, i was wondering, would the red dot discs and pads actually fit an 1100 selecta?

Nope, it just says blue on the V5.

It's the colour on my avatar image... i realise that is very little use... but i thought i would offer it up anyway.

looks like the same colour as Rufus (fuzzypanda's car).

Rufus is a very dark blue like AsBo....

Use image tags [ I M G ] and [ / I M G ] but without the spaces.
