I just got a length of fuel hose from Spectrum Hoses in High Wycombe. I'm not suggesting you go there, but any decent supplier will be able to help - it was pretty cheap too, and I had enough left for another time. (y) I'd offer to send the spare to you, but I can't remember where I put it....

Any fuel hose of the correct diameter (think its 8mm?) will do, does not need to be braided. You should be able to get it from any motor factor or Halfords if you want to pay double for it(y) Motor Factors usually sell it by the meter and then you can cut it down to the correct length.

Awesome!! Thanks for the info guys :)

Just ordered 1/2metre of it off eBay for 2.99 , cheers for the info guys :)

That's why I love this forum, the help, friendliness and advice you get is incredible :) I know this is a forum and not a club, but it feels like a club to me, like the best society in the world.

It is a club. An exclusive club. Actually a very exclusive club - 99% of the population will never be eligible & will never know what they are missing. In some ways it would be nice if everyone had a Panda, but at the moment you need to be a certain kind of :nutter: to join - it was clear from the start that you fitted in nicely Cameron!! (y)

Haha cheers :ROFLMAO:

I get what you mean, it would be nice if people understood why we love these cars, but then again, i enjoy the exclusivity and being part of this club :)

Cameron,
Is there mesh type filter next to fuel inlet point, the big copper bolt which hold it is situ is not shown on your photo. It will make me confused if screw in point is blanked off. Or the carb was replaced or fiat run out of them on the day of build.
So smal and simple car they are but so many variations.

From my extensive collection of 32tlfs I have concluded that only the Spanish ones have the mesh filter, pukka Italian ones don't.

hmm ebay fuel hoses.. been on talon a year and perished to high hell... my advice would be to get some from off a car in a scrap yard... talon now has some hose i found on a cinq evap system and it shows no signs of of perishing.

9 times out of 10, they let you have it for free too >_<

Oh to have Scrapyard's like the ones I hear about on here :( every scrapyard I can find in ayrshire removes the engine and ancilleries and crushes them straight away, the shell is left for a month max before being crushed, unless the car is over 9 years old In which case it is crushed instantly.

Its a really pants way of doing things up here, as I have discussed before there is not really a market for running older cars up here :(

Amen to that, without the internet and e-gay we would be lost up here.

Ive spoken many times about the lack of appreciation/market for classic/older cars up here, its seems to be a Scotland-wide problem (n)

Bloody snobbery and keeping up with the joneses up here is the problem, along with car finance being so readily available. Honestly how does doing that appeal to people?? I dont understand it! :(

It appeals to me more knowing that all my cars are owned outright by me and not part owned by some finance house :)

Sounds bob on to me. I know nothing about car finance but if you did, wouldn't it be better to go to a bank and get a loan and buy the car with that. Wouldn't you get a better rate of interest?

I think why people (certainly in Scotland) do it a lot is because its more difficult to get the kind of loan amount from a bank than it is getting finance through a dealership. Reason being that if you are taking out finance loans for things your credit score may not be very good so the banks wont loan to you.
