Saw this the other day in Mundersley, Norfolk. I can't recall having seen one before so thought I'd share it, perhaps the Panda 4x4 guys will like it. Sorry about the photos, the fact that it was in a car park meant I was limited for space.

Very rare motor indeed, I know there is a massive follwing for VWs in general - which I am very much not interested in - but I do like these, very impressive and practical. Plenty of vids of them on the 'tube. Nice find, thanks for sharing.

how many Golf Syncro's have you seen? ive only ever seen one in a car auction a long time ago and even then i was thinking what if it needed a cv joint or how would you do the clutch etc:eek:
left it for someone wither bigger d cups:D
cant say i ever followed those new type vw vans with their water cooled technology as it was frowned upon when they first came out by techno savvies
how things change eh

my brother owns a VW Van Conversion and camper company, and has a VW specialist next door, you don't see these very often but they are very capable off road but bloody expensive

In good working order it would cost around £8-10k for a decent T25 Syncro

The newer T4 and T5 vans still come with 4wd and are much more common however the prices are just plain silly

They remind me of 101 forward control Land Rovers in the way they move and how that translates to the occupants. (And that's a good thing I think.)
I worked with a guy last year who was a joint owner of one of these in camper form. And on his desk he kept a shattered third gear that had destroyed the box, stranded them somewhere remote and landed an awesome bill to fix.
-Almost the definition of a great vehicle possibly?

Very appealing, but watching those clips makes me wonder - would the 2 WD version have traversed those sections without much difficulty too?
As with our Pandas - engine over the driven wheels is key to traction, then tyre choice, then ride height or maybe the other way around?
Or is driver psychology the difference? - as in 'If this doesn't work I can always try 4wd.' so we dive in and get through due to a more relaxed approach dealing better with the challenges?

Or answer "E" - all of the above?

Great clips though.☺

How about an AndyPanda4x4 wild camping trip one day?
