General 4x4 fuel tank

Yes this has been raised before but I find myself needing a metal 4x4 fuel tank in any condition from anywhere and any model. All it has to do is fit the gap and I can do the rest.

Any thoughts, help, links or ideas are welcome. I will consider anything and even the comment "I don't fancy your chances..." will be welcomed as positive support. HELP:worship:

Wow what a response... I've had so many offers for something I thought was unobtainium I am overwhelmed and a little embarassed

So many offers in fact that I haven't been able to respond to everyone yet........... But.....

I have arranged for a tank from Allen Fletcher. He has other 4x4 parts I am interested in (although he might not know that yet...!)

Thankyou to everyone. I'm still at the evaluating and working out the logistics stage but I reckon we can save this one.

Alixcompo contacted me last week about a new 4x4 tank, with regards to asking my Italian friends if they could source any for our models with a carb. I thought my findings might be interesting for anyone else who's also after one...

Luca from panda4x4.info has told me that the carb fuel tank on the whole is as rare in Italy as it is here, especially as an after market part. A couple of the Italian Panda club members have bought a tank from this company a while ago through ebay...

...but they are a dutch firm and he is unable to communicate with them.

The main aftermarket supplier of the tanks is a firm called Pisano, and the tank is here...

Luca has very kindly been in touch with them via email and the part is no longer available! BUT he says that he may have a bit more luck if he phones them on our behalf to either find out if they would point us in the direction of a manufacturer or if they would be happy to take a bulk order and get a number of new tanks made just for us.

So from here I need to know please who would like a new tank so I can give Luca a rough number to bargain with?

Storage & cost of slow moving stock? :idea:

I don't need two really, but I have been worried about Howie's tank since I got him. The tank was right on the edge but I managed to clean off the rust without holing it, then hammerited it to death. That seems to have worked, but...... So I want one for Howie and one for something else - bound to end up with another 4x4 at some point aren't I???!!
