I've just aquired a basic F reg panda with a small problem. It wont start. Was driving along one day when it stalled. Hasnt started since. It will turn over at a decent speed. There is fuel getting into the carb. Spark coming through the HT leads but no 1 is abit loose on the plug. Havent checked spark from plugs yets. Need to double check order on dizzy too. Any problems jump to mind guys? Cheerz

Hi, Simo, welcome to Panda ownership and the Fiat Forum.
Have you checked the cam belt,it could be loose and have jumped a few teeth, cleaned the plugs and checked the gap. If it was running smoothly then the dizzy order should be OK. If all is OK there, ask again for more ideas.

cheerz mate. was gonna check plugs and rockers tommorow. although it shuld still start even if the gaps are out. any known common faults with pandas on this? chance of a rocker coming loose?>

Which engine has your Panda got and how many miles? If it's a Fire engine,999 or 750 it will have a camshaft.
They're usually pretty tough and reliable engines, for it to stall and not start would indicate something out of the ordinary.

not entirely sure of the engine mate.gonna have to get into it.im a ford man meself. at least i know now its not gonna be something basic. whats the firing order on these engines? would spark loss on cylinder 1 have detrimental effects.

If it's an F reg. it is almost certainly a FIRE engine. The air filter is a squarish looking thing, either black or green. The older engines had round air filters.

Hope this helps and I also hope I'm not talking rubbish either ...
