My poor wee panda 4x4 has been in storage while I have been away. She always had a stiff gear change (otherwise runs like a treat). Last drive 6 weeks ago the gear change was real tough and I could not get it into neutral when I parked it up. She seems to be seized in gear (3rd or 4th). Linkage seems free and body is well undersealed. Clutch is ok. Gear box only took a little bit of oil. There is a bit of movement with gearstick.

Anyone had anything like this before?

Thanks & regards

Not sure if this will help but..

Mine wouldn't select reverse until I removed the cover from the selector linkage (4 x 10mm bolts underneath brake servo- the back right's a devil).
Under there is a sprung quadrant fork shaped piece that had been displaced and was locking out the gear.
After experiments to confirm the theory and not being able to work out the purpose of said mechanism, I drilled it out, replaced the cover and mine's been fine ever since.

Just a thought.

Good luck.

Dont know that off the top of my head...delivered the panda into local garage today, they will maybe get the box off, will keep you posted on how things go.

Cheers
