Well it's been a while. Nearly 4 years I think, but last weekend I put the Sisley though a long awaited MOT. One unexpected Pass and she's back on the road (just in time for some winter fun)
So here comes the questions :D
Before she got laid up I drained all the fluids which have now all been replaced with new filters and the usual service stuff. Even got some proper ZC90 oil for the gearbox (y)
In those four years she got a new radiator, discs, pads, shoes, complete brake fluid change, new control arms and bottom ball joints and a complete exhaust system.
She iniatially ran like a dream, tight and reponsive... gearchange a bit sloppy but thinking some new bushes should help that, But... well, she seems to have developed a slight pull on the steering. On the gas and its a slightest pull to the left, off the gas eg. gearchange and a pull to the right. Nothing jerking as such, feels like a gust of wind has caught the car.

I'm thinking engine mounts... unless anyone knows otherwise :D

Oh yea, s'good to be back and see the old faces are still about :)

Not yet so that's something else on the list to run through. A rather interesting, and I've decided to use interesting rather than serious cos I'm hoping it'll be cheaper... After a run tonite I've found it doesn't happen in 4 wheel drive *gulps*

:yeahthat:

Sounds like mine when one brake stuck on. Until it got really bad that is, when it dived like a pro footballer, and then bucked the other way like a bronco!! Came on quite quickly and could have been dangerous if you didn't have your wits about you.

Worth checking anyway (y)

If you've had the suspension apart, check the nuts at the front end of the tie rods. If one of those works loose then you get slight front to back movement as you go on and off the power. Left side loose it'll pull right on the throttle and left on the brakes and vice versa,. Sounds like the right might be slack.

Bang on FirstCar. It was a tie rod not tightened enough.:bang: Well thats that sorted, now it's just the annoying faint exhaust rattle. I noticed it's missing a bracket/clamp type thing (now ordered) so hoping that'll cure it.
Thanks again everyone... do love this place.

Probably worth investing in a couple of fresh nyloc nuts for the tie rods. Once mine started working loose they kept doing it, and eventually I overtightened and the rods snapped on me on the road:eek:
M12x1.25 nyloc. Same thread as the wheel bolts so if you're out shopping for them rather than online, take a wheel bolt in your pocket to check;)

Popped into our local fastener supplier today, the M12/ 1.25s thread is a lot courser than the fine thread on the rods. Going to keep looking. Is handy it's the same as the wheel bolt. As you say, just keep one in me pocket... They usually fill up with all sorts of odd and sods anyway. For now the originals are Loctite'nd on and I'll just keep an eye on them.
Cheers again

Wrong thread at the hardware place then. Wheel bolts are M12x1.25 and I laid in a wee stock of those nuts as I stripped one on the rear shock too. Unless 4x4 tie rods are different but I don't think so.
Loctite should hold them anyhow.
