I am proud owner of 1989 4 by 4 Panda , 80k miles and totally original. I am off the road as I cannot source front wiper spares from anywhere specifically soft metal collar and grub screw , matching wiper arm and blade. The whole lot flew off on M62 a couple of weeks ago and I have drawn a blank . I have approached breakers who are only willing to sell complete scrap cars circa £500. Is there an easy fix or another part /make using the Fiat bits ? I am also keen to buy new outer door skins/panels , locks and some other interior bits .

Thanks for anyone who can advise.

Welcome! (y)

You'd be best posting in the Classic Panda section; and posting a wanted list in the Classifieds. A look at the suppliers sticky may also yield some results...!

Be warned, though: Mk2 doors and door skins are like bee's teeth; and the 'residents' of the Classic Panda asylum, er, section, can be a little nutty, to say the least. And I should know... -- look at my signature...! :D

Feel free to yell, if you have any more questions; and I shall ask a mod to move this to the correct section, for you...! :)

Had a man knock at my door wanting the Panda 4x4.
Twas only when I looked at his vehicle I realised he was a scrap man.
Told him no way Jose!
Wifee peed herself laughing.

Still I wondered following morning where me doorskins went, must have been Huddersfax.

The front wiper blade isn't held on with a grub screw normally, sounds like someone has tried a repair in the past. The arm should be a press fit on to the splines but they wear making it loose. Proper way to repair it is to renew the linkage assemby as that is the only way you can get the soft metal splined bit, plus a new arm. What most people do though is glue the arm back on with a strong adhesive like Araldite, crude I know but it can work for a couple of years if you're lucky.

P.S. I have new door skins. (y)

are they also like hens teeth..?,

i.e. if these assemblies are still intact ( unglued / bodged) - is it worth me rescuing them..??:D
