General Panda as a daily driver

General Panda as a daily driver

This is what I'm dreading when I go to Uni :(
I'm trying to leave it with someone who will drive it or at least start it up once a week

Nah, don't worry. Charmania was sat here unused in the garage for a couple of months - started first time after a few seconds turning over. Several of mine sit for months on end (6 months for the Super - still first time) - never any trouble. Might be wise to disconnect the battery if it's going into storage though. The Sisley Jamie now has was off the road for 10 years - that still starts first time too! (y)

Oh, leave the handbrake off though - the brakes will bind if you leave it applied. Been there, done that.......

Or invest in a smart charger. Will be useful for when you build up your fleet.... (First came Jack the Panda; then Daniel....)

Me too... -- on a 1967 Beetle.

PS: You don't need to divulge the answer publicly... -- but where are you going to uni? One of us Pandits may be near enough to look after it for you, if you want to keep it to hand....

She won't be left that long without being driven, I'll make the effort to try and drive her once a month if possible, she started when I came back from holiday first time but that was only a week, did take a bit of cranking though.

I'm going to Portsmouth, I know a certain someone who's very close however they are a bit short on space

It's when you take the car off the road for a while you get the problems.

Pandas are a lot like MG's in that respect.

Never had that issue ourself. Victoria the 750L sat on the drive for 4 years idle, went straight through MOT when I put her back on the road.

If stored in the correct condition(s) you should be fine :)

What are you raving on about Mr PF?

No one cares anymore about former Polytechnics not being proper Universities anymore as degrees are seen as just an excuse to run up debts and have a gap year then moan about there being no jobs worthy of degree educated students.

Crikey, you'll be asking Didge what he's "reading" next

Hang on, hang on I've just rolled out of bed into a puddle of my own vomit, scrap the Uni idea, I'll apply for the job I want right now with my new fangled GCSE's and A-Levels in hand
